The lovely Chloe is on the panel of our Stigma Event and having written and research stigma extensively for her degree she is the perfect panellist to share her findings with us all.
I’m Chloe, I’m 29 and I live in West Sussex. I unexpectedly fell pregnant (I was on the pill) and the guy I was seeing wasn’t happy. We mutually agreed that he would not be a part of Penelope’s life when I was pregnant and I haven’t spoken to him since I was 19 weeks along.
Penelope is 2 in September and I can honestly say I have never been happier. After a redundancy from Financial Advice I decide to change career to totally fit with Penelope, I am currently doing an Access Course in Humanities with Social Science and I start my teaching degree at University in September. I will start teaching the same September that Penelope starts school so it’s panned out nicely.
I did meet the “love of my life” when Penelope was 6 weeks old. Life was wonderful and I thought we were good forever. Turned out he was a complete sociopath and cheat. I hit rock bottom in December when it all came out and we ended. But I had to regain my strength and confidence for Penelope. She is my absolute world, I simply adore her. She made me her Mama but she also made me, me and I could never be more thankful to her for that.
